Peter Schiff

Peter Schiff is a stockbroker, financial commentator, and author who founded Euro Pacific Capital in 1996. He became widely known for publicly predicting the US housing market collapse and financial crisis several years before it occurred, appearing on financial television shows where he argued against the housing-is-safe consensus. His book "Crash Proof: How to Profit from the Coming Economic Collapse" was published in 2007, shortly before his predictions materialized. Schiff is an adherent of Austrian economics and has been a consistent advocate for gold and silver as stores of value and protection against currency debasement. He runs Euro Pacific Precious Metals and has been one of the most vocal critics of Federal Reserve monetary policy and US fiscal expansion. Despite sometimes extreme predictions that have not materialized, his 2008 forecast remains his most powerful credential.
