Pierre Andurand

Pierre Andurand is a French hedge fund manager who runs Andurand Capital Management, focused primarily on crude oil and energy commodity markets. He previously co-founded BlueGold Capital, which achieved returns exceeding 200% in 2008 by betting on rising oil prices before the financial crisis and then shorting oil as prices collapsed. After BlueGold wound down in 2012, Andurand launched Andurand Capital with a similar macro approach to energy markets. His fund returned over 150% in 2022 during the oil price spike following energy supply disruptions. Andurand is known for making highly directional, concentrated bets on crude oil price direction based on supply-demand fundamentals analysis, geopolitical risk assessment, and macroeconomic regime analysis.
